✦ Working Together
What should you expect?
Working with an editor should feel like a partnership, not a hand-off. From our first conversation to your final pages, here's what you can count on, and exactly how the process unfolds.

What does the editing process look like?
Every project is a little different, but here's the path we'll usually walk together.
- 1
Finish your story!
If you're wanting to dive into editing, you need to know your story and have it completed. I always suggest two rounds of self-edits before we get started.
- 2
Get in touch.
Reach out and let me know a bit about your project. This can be a simple message on social media or filling out my Service Inquiry Form. Whatever works best for you.
- 3
Time to talk about it.
We'll have a Zoom call to discuss the details of what you're looking for, talk through your project, and make sure we're a good match. This is still your project!
- 4
Paperwork.
We come up with a plan for how to approach your project. To make sure both of us are comfortable with the job, we put a contract together.
- 5
Time to roll!
This is the exciting part. I start editing your project! I'll read through every page of your manuscript and compile thoughtful, actionable feedback.
- 6
Review and discussion.
Once I finish editing, I'll send your edited pages and we'll have a discussion about the next steps and how to best move forward with your story.
Your story stays yours, every step of the way.
My job is to help it become the best version of itself, not to make it sound like me. When we're done, you'll have sharper pages and the confidence to share them.
