These terms govern your use of the Funky Like Feathers website and services, including editing, book coaching, and writing workshops. By using our site, booking a service, or registering for a workshop, you agree to these terms.

Our services

We provide developmental editing, book coaching, and live writing workshops (offered in person and over Zoom). Specific deliverables, scope, and timelines are agreed with you for each engagement. We bring professional care and effort, but we do not guarantee any particular outcome, such as publication or sales.

Bookings, payments, and deposits

Prices are shown at the time of purchase and charged through our payment providers (Square, PayPal, or Stripe). Certain engagements require a non-refundable deposit to reserve your place or a spot on the waiting list. Promotions and discounts apply only within their stated terms and windows.

Workshops

Workshop registrations may be in person (limited seats) or virtual over Zoom (unlimited). All registered attendees receive the Zoom link by email about an hour before the workshop begins. In-person seats are limited and sold on a first-come basis. Refund and transfer terms for a workshop are provided at the time of purchase; if you need to cancel or transfer, contact us at [email protected] and we will do our best to help.

Intellectual property

You retain all rights to your manuscripts and original work. You grant us the limited right to access and work with your materials only as needed to provide the services you requested. Our website content, course materials, and workshop materials remain our property and may not be redistributed without permission.

Acceptable use

Please use our site and services lawfully and respectfully. Do not attempt to disrupt the site, access other users' data, or misuse our content or materials.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Our services and website are provided on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service giving rise to the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
