Funky Like Feathers ("we," "us," or "our") provides editing, book coaching, and writing workshops. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using our website or services you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
We collect information you give us directly, including: your name, email address, and phone number; details about your project or goals when you apply or contact us; workshop registration details; and account information (such as your email and a securely hashed password) if you create an account. We also receive limited technical information automatically, such as your approximate location and device or browser type, through privacy-friendly analytics.
Payments
Payments are processed by our payment providers (Square, PayPal, and/or Stripe). We do not collect or store your full card or bank details on our servers; that information is handled directly by the processor under their own terms and security. We retain a record of the transaction (amount, date, and status) to manage your order.
How we use your information
We use your information to provide and improve our services: to respond to inquiries, manage applications and projects, schedule and deliver workshops and meetings, process payments, send service-related messages (such as confirmations and reminders), and keep our site secure.
Marketing communications
When you opt in (for example, the "keep me posted about future workshops" checkbox at checkout), we may email you news and updates. Marketing opt-in information is collected with your consent and is never shared with or sold to any third parties. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in those emails or by contacting us at [email protected].
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, and only as needed to deliver what you asked for: payment processors (Square, PayPal, Stripe); Google (for optional Google sign-in and calendar scheduling); Zoom (to host virtual workshops and meetings); and our email provider (to send messages). We may also disclose information if required by law.
Cookies and analytics
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in, and privacy-friendly analytics to understand site usage in aggregate. We do not use cross-site advertising trackers.
Data retention and security
We keep your information for as long as needed to provide our services and meet legal or accounting obligations, then delete or anonymize it. We use reasonable safeguards, including encryption of sensitive fields and optional two-factor authentication, to protect your information.
Your choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may opt out of marketing emails at any time. To make a request, email us at [email protected].
Children
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the "last updated" date above.
